 Samana
Samana was founded in 1756, at a time when it was vulnerable to pirates. The 1820`s witnessed the immigration of black freed men, who settled here, preserving their customs and a lilting English language. It is a lush peninsula with a spectacular bay dotted with small keys. The most famos is Cayo Levantado.
